M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech/B.S. of 4-year duration) or M.Sc. in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying degree (50% marks or 5.0 CGPA/CPI for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
• A valid GATE score is required. However, IIT B.Tech. graduates with a CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or above are eligible without a GATE score.

Admission Process for M.Tech. Programs:

• Admission is primarily based on a valid GATE score. Candidates must register on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) for admission offers.
• IIT B.Tech. graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above can apply without a GATE score.
• The selection process may also include a written test and/or an interview for shortlisted candidates.
• Applications are submitted online through the official IIT Gandhinagar admissions portal: admissions.iitgn.ac.in.
• Application fee: ₹ 300 for General/OBC/EWS candidates; ₹ 150 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
