Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate in PCM for General category; 50% for SC/ST/PwD (10% relaxation).
  • Must have a valid score in JEE Main 2026 (Session 1 or Session 2).
  • IIIT Hyderabad does NOT follow the national 75% rule; candidates need at least 60% marks in PCM in Class XII.
  • For JEE Main admissions, the institute does not participate in JoSAA counselling. Candidates must apply directly through the IIIT-H JEE admission portal.

Seat Matrix

  • Total B.Tech seats across all specializations: Varies by channel.
  • Seats for B.Tech ECE through JEE Main mode: 60 (sanctioned intake).
  • Additional seats are available through UGEE, SPEC, Olympiad, DASA, and Board-based channels.
  • Branch change between CSE and ECE is allowed after 1st year, subject to the condition that the total numbers in each branch are within 10% of sanctioned strength.

Admission Process

  • Step 1: JEE Main: Candidates must have a valid score in JEE Main 2026 (Session 1 or Session 2).
  • Step 2: Direct Application: Unlike most NITs and IIITs, IIIT Hyderabad does NOT participate in JoSAA counselling. Candidates must apply directly through the IIIT-H JEE admission portal (opens April 2026, tentative).
  • Step 3: Merit List: The institute prepares its own merit list based on JEE Main scores and Class XII PCM percentage.
  • Step 4: Reporting: Selected candidates must report to the campus for document verification and fee payment.

Additional Admission Channels

  • UGEE (B.Tech + MS Dual Degree): For 5-year dual degree programs. Candidates must appear for the UGEE exam (May 2, 2026) followed by an interview. No minimum Class XII percentage required.
  • SPEC (Special Channel of Admission): For students from JNV or integrated programs. 20 seats each in CSE and ECE.
  • DASA (Direct Admission for Students Abroad): For foreign nationals, PIOs, and OCIs. Tuition fee: USD 15,000 per annum.
  • Olympiad Channel: For candidates with exceptional performance in recognized Olympiads.

Required Documents: Class X & XII mark sheets and certificates, JEE Main scorecard, Category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), Transfer certificate, Migration certificate, Passport-size photographs, Medical fitness certificate, Anti-ragging undertaking.
