M.S. by Research in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent in Electronics and Communication Engineering or related discipline from a recognized university.
• Alternatively, M.E./M.Tech all branches, M.Sc, MCA, MA (Maths) can also apply.
• Admission is based on IIITH PGEE followed by a personal interview.

Admission Process for M.S. by Research Programs:

• Admission is based on IIITH PGEE (Postgraduate Entrance Examination) conducted by the institute, followed by a personal interview.
• Candidates must register and apply online through the official IIIT Hyderabad admissions portal (pgadmissions.iiit.ac.in).
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview based on performance in PGEE.
• The final selection is based on performance in the entrance exam and personal interview.
• For the 2026 academic session, PGEE interviews for MS by Research were scheduled for June 9-10, 2026.
• Admitted students receive a stipend of ₹16,000 per month during the first semester; from the second semester onwards, the stipend ranges between ₹6,000 and ₹16,000.
