M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA for General/OBC category; 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD category.
• Valid GATE score is mandatory for full-time regular candidates through CCMT counselling.
• For Self-Sponsored program: Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).

Admission Process for M.Tech Programs:

• Admission is primarily based on a valid GATE score, followed by CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech) counselling.
• Candidates must first register and apply on the official CCMT portal (ccmt.admissions.nic.in).
• After shortlisting, candidates must register on the CCMT portal to fill choices and accept offers.
• For Self-Sponsored programs, candidates may need to appear for a written entrance test conducted by NIT Jalandhar.
• The final merit list is prepared based on GATE score, academic record, and performance in the interview (if applicable).
• For the latest academic session (2026), the CCMT counselling is expected to begin in May 2026.
