Fee Structure Breakdown
- Total tuition fee for 2-year M.Tech Petroleum: Rs. 6,50,000 (approx.)
- This is the flagship program of UPES (established as UPES in 2003 with a focus on Oil & Gas).
- Laboratory fee: Rs. 25,000 per year (for drilling and reservoir simulation labs).
- One-time Admission Fee: Rs. 15,000 + Security Deposit: Rs. 20,000.
- Hostel and mess charges: Rs. 2,00,000 - Rs. 2,50,000 per year.
- Grand Total including all charges: Rs. 11,00,000 - Rs. 12,00,000 approx.
- Average Placement Package for M.Tech Petroleum: Rs. 10 - 12 LPA (Top recruiters: Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, ONGC, Cairn Oil & Gas).
Admission Process
- Step 1: Apply online on the UPES admissions portal with GATE score (preferred) or UPESMET.
- Step 2: Shortlisting based on GATE percentile (minimum 550 score in GATE for consideration).
- Step 3: Personal Interview (PI) with the Department of Petroleum Engineering.
- Step 4: Final selection = 50% GATE score + 50% PI performance.
- Step 5: Seat acceptance fee: Rs. 65,000 (adjustable against tuition).
Post-Allotment Reporting at UPES Dehradun
- Report to UPES Bidholi Campus, Dehradun with original documents: B.Tech degree, all semester marksheets, GATE scorecard, Class 10 & 12 certificates, Transfer Certificate, Medical fitness certificate.
- Industry collaboration: Students get mandatory internships at Oil India Limited, ONGC, or private E&P companies.
