M.Tech in Renewable Energy

• Must have a B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Energy Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 55% aggregate in graduation (50% for SC/ST categories).
• Valid score in UPESMET or GATE (any discipline of engineering).
• M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry with minimum 60% are also eligible, provided they have studied Mathematics at the graduation level.
• No upper age limit.

Fee Structure Breakdown

• Total tuition fee for 2-year M.Tech Renewable Energy: Rs. 3,20,000 (approx.)
• One-time Admission Fee: Rs. 12,000 + Caution Deposit: Rs. 15,000 (refundable).
• Hostel Fee: Rs. 1,20,000 - Rs. 1,80,000 per year (separate hostels for boys and girls with solar-powered heating systems).
• Mess charges: Rs. 70,000 per year approx.
• Grand Total including hostel and mess: Rs. 6,00,000 - Rs. 7,00,000 approx.
• Average Placement Package: Rs. 6 - 8 LPA (Recruiters: Tata Power Solar, Suzlon, ReNew Power, NTPC, IREDA).

Admission Process

• Step 1: Fill out the UPES application form for M.Tech Renewable Energy.
• Step 2: Appear for UPESMET (computer-based test) or submit GATE score.
• Step 3: Shortlisted candidates will have a Personal Interview (online or offline).
• Step 4: Merit list publication on upes.ac.in.
• Step 5: Pay the acceptance fee of Rs. 30,000 to confirm the seat.
• Scholarships: 30% tuition waiver for GATE qualifiers; 20% waiver for top 10 rankers in UPESMET.

Post-Allotment Reporting at UPES Dehradun

• Report to UPES Energy Acres (Bidholi Campus), Dehradun with: B.Tech/M.Sc degree and marksheets, UPESMET/GATE scorecard, Class 10 & 12 certificates, Category certificate (if applicable), Migration Certificate, 8 passport-size photographs, Medical certificate, Anti-ragging affidavit (in Rs. 10 stamp paper).
