M.Tech (Master of Technology)

• Educational Qualification: Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master's degree in Science from a recognized institute.
• Minimum Marks: Minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying degree for UR/OBC/EWS candidates; 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• GATE Requirement: Must have a valid GATE score in the relevant paper. IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above are eligible for direct admission without GATE.
• Specific Eligibility: Must meet program-specific eligibility criteria (e.g., for M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical, Petrochemical, Petroleum, or related fields is required).

Admission Process: Admission is through online counseling via the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) based on GATE score and CGPA.

Steps to Apply:

• Register and fill the online application form on the IIT(ISM) admissions portal (admissions.iitism.ac.in) within the specified window (e.g., March 24 to April 19, 2026, tentative).
• GATE-qualified candidates must also register on the COAP portal.
• Pay the non-refundable application fee: ₹600 for UR/EWS/OBC, ₹300 for SC/ST/PWD/Transgender, and ₹2000 for sponsored candidates.
• Upload required documents: photograph, signature, qualifying degree marksheet, valid GATE scorecard, category certificates, etc.
• Participate in the COAP counseling process for seat allotment based on GATE score and CGPA.
• Allotted candidates must report to the institute for document verification and fee payment.

Fees and Payment: Fees can be paid online. The total fee for the first semester is approximately ₹67,850, which includes tuition, other semester charges, and mess fees. Tuition fees are exempted for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
