  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Design/Architecture/Interior Design or equivalent with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Valid CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) score. GATE not accepted for M.Des.
  • Portfolio of design work may be required during interview.

Fee Structure Breakdown

  • Tuition Fee: Rs. 35,000 per semester (Rs. 1,40,000 for 4 semesters).
  • Other semester fees: Rs. 13,000 approx.
  • Hostel rent: Rs. 15,000 per semester.
  • Mess advance: Rs. 12,000 per semester.
  • One-time fees: Rs. 10,000.
  • Total estimated cost for 2 years: Rs. 3.2 – 3.8 lakhs including hostel & mess.

Admission Process

  • Qualify CEED conducted by IIT Bombay.
  • Register on IIT Guwahati's M.Des admission portal after CEED results.
  • Shortlisted candidates based on CEED score called for Studio Test and Personal Interview at IIT Guwahati.
  • Final merit list based on CEED (50%) + Studio Test (30%) + Interview (20%).
  • Seats: 25. Category-wise as per GOI. Sponsored seats also available.

Reporting – Same as M.Tech programs at IIT Guwahati. Additional requirement: portfolio of design projects.
