M.Tech. in Power Systems Engineering

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA for General category; 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST category.
• Valid GATE score is mandatory for full-time regular candidates. Non-GATE candidates can also apply and will be considered based on their performance in the Kalasalingam Engineering Entrance Exam (KEEE).
• B.Tech graduates from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above are exempt from the GATE requirement.

Admission Process for M.Tech Programs:

• Admission is primarily based on a valid GATE score. Candidates with GATE scores are given preference.
• Non-GATE candidates must appear for the Kalasalingam Engineering Entrance Exam (KEEE) conducted by the university.
• Candidates must first register and apply online on the official KARE admissions portal (kalasalingam.ac.in).
• After shortlisting based on GATE/KEEE scores, candidates are called for a personal interview.
• The final merit list is prepared based on entrance exam scores, academic record, and performance in the interview.
• For the latest academic session (2026-27), the application process is expected to begin in April 2026.
