BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)

• Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.
• Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB for General/EWS; 40% for SC/ST/OBC; 45% for General-PwD as per DCI and NMC norms.
• Must have completed at least 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission. No upper age limit as per NMC circular dated March 9, 2022.
• Must qualify NEET UG conducted by NTA: 50th percentile for General/EWS, 40th for SC/ST/OBC, 45th for General-PwD.
• Puducherry domicile or nativity is required for Puducherry State Quota seats. Candidates from any state are eligible for AIQ seats without domicile requirement.
• NRI/Foreign/NRI-sponsored candidates are eligible under the NRI/Management quota (5 seats) via CENTAC Puducherry.
• Candidates from boards other than Puducherry HSC, CBSE, or CISCE must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from Pondicherry University.

Fee Structure Breakdown

• Puducherry Domicile (State Quota) annual fee: Rs. 57,475 per year
• All India Quota (AIQ) annual fee: Rs. 63,800 per year
• NRI / Foreign / NRI-Sponsored / Management Quota: Higher fee as declared by CENTAC Puducherry annually

• University / Examination Fee (Pondicherry University): Rs. 3,000 - Rs. 5,000 per year approx.

• Internship stipend: Rs. 20,000 per month during the 1-year compulsory rotatory internship

All India Quota Counselling (AIQ - 17 seats)

• Conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) / DGHS at mcc.nic.in
• Open to candidates from any state in India without Puducherry domicile requirement
• Register on MCC portal after NEET UG results; pay registration fee of Rs. 1,500 (General/OBC/EWS) or Rs. 1,000 (SC/ST/PwD) and a refundable security deposit of Rs. 2,00,000 (General/OBC/EWS) or Rs. 50,000 (SC/ST/PwD)
• Upload documents, fill and lock college preferences including MGPGI Puducherry, and participate in Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round
• NEET UG 2024 AIQ General category closing rank for MGPGI: approximately 48,000 - 55,000 (closing score approximately 380-395 marks)
• AIQ OBC closing rank 2024: approximately 62,000; SC closing rank: approximately 1,60,000; ST closing rank: approximately 2,50,000

Puducherry State Quota Counselling (via CENTAC - 51 seats)

• Conducted by Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Govt. of Puducherry at centac.edu.in
• Puducherry domicile / nativity mandatory; candidates must furnish a valid Puducherry residence certificate issued by the competent authority
• Merit list is drawn based on NEET UG rank with Puducherry reservation norms applied
• Puducherry reservation categories: SC, ST, OBC, Sportsperson, Ex-servicemen, PwD horizontal reservation as per UT of Puducherry reservation policy
• Two rounds of counselling plus a mop-up round conducted by CENTAC
• NEET UG 2024 Puducherry State Quota General category closing score for MGPGI: approximately 370-390 marks

Management Quota and NRI Quota Counselling (via CENTAC - 44 + 5 seats)

• Both Management Quota (44 seats) and NRI/Foreign/NRI-Sponsored (5 seats) are filled by CENTAC on NEET UG merit basis
• Open to all India candidates for Management Quota; NRI/OCI/Foreign National candidates for NRI quota
• Register and apply through the CENTAC portal at centac.edu.in; allotment is purely NEET-rank based
• NEET UG qualification mandatory for all quota types including NRI and Management

Post-Allotment Reporting at MGPGI
