Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc.) with the relevant subject (Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics) for a minimum of 2 years/4 semesters.
Minimum 60% aggregate (or 6.0 CGPA) for General/EWS/OBC categories; 55% (or 5.5 CGPA) for SC/ST/PwD.
Valid IIT JAM score in the relevant subject.
Final-year students can also apply.

Admissions are conducted through the Centralized Counseling for M.Sc. (CCMN). Candidates must register on the official CCMN portal (ccmn.in).
Selection is based on the candidate's IIT JAM score and rank.
Shortlisted candidates are allotted seats through the CCMN counseling process.
After seat allotment, candidates must report to NIT Calicut for document verification and fee payment.

Detailed Fee Structure
Total fees for the 2-year course: approx. ₹2.58 Lakhs. Tuition fee: approx. ₹15,000 per semester (or ₹30,000 per year) for General category under CCMN; higher for Self-Sponsored. One-time fee: approx. ₹61,000. Hostel fee: approx. ₹12,000 per semester plus mess charges. SC/ST students are exempt from tuition fees under CCMN.
