BHU dental graduates commonly pursue MDS specialisation (aided by BHU's strong overall academic reputation), government dental officer roles, private practice, or hospital-affiliated clinical positions. The mandatory 1-year rotating internship is completed within BHU's dental hospital and, where relevant, its broader medical hospital network — a Dental Council of India (now National Dental Commission) requirement before BDS graduates can register to practise.
