Admission Process Flow
Admission to IIT Tirupati is highly competitive and primarily entrance-based. For B.Tech programs, candidates must qualify for the JEE Main and subsequently the JEE Advanced examination, followed by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling. For M.Tech programs, selection is based on GATE scores followed by the COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) process. M.Sc. admissions are conducted through IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) and CCMN counseling. Ph.D. and M.S. (Research) admissions involve a valid GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET score followed by written tests and personal interviews conducted by the respective departments.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects, securing a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or being in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For M.Tech: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid GATE score is required. IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above are eligible for direct admission without GATE. For M.Sc.: A relevant Bachelor's degree with minimum marks as specified by the JAM portal. For Ph.D.: A Master’s degree in a relevant field with high academic standing and qualifying national-level exams.
