Admission Process Flow

For Undergraduate Engineering (B.E./B.Tech), admission is primarily based on the rank obtained in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). Approximately 90% of seats are reserved for students from West Bengal. Candidates must participate in the centralized e-counseling process conducted by the WBJEE Board. For Architecture (B.Arch), candidates must also qualify in the NATA or JEE Main Paper 2. Postgraduate admissions for M.E./M.Tech are based on GATE scores, followed by interview rounds or university-specific entrance tests if required. Admission to the Faculty of Arts and Science often involves separate university entrance exams combined with academic merit from previous qualifying examinations. The application process is typically online through the university's official admission portal.

General Eligibility Criteria

For B.Tech/B.E. programs: Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in PCM (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD) is required, with at least 60% specifically in Mathematics and pass marks in English. The minimum age for eligibility is 17 years. For M.Tech: Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline with a valid GATE score. For Architecture: Candidates need a minimum of 50% in PCM and 50% aggregate in 10+2, along with a valid NATA score.
