KGMU dental graduates commonly pursue MDS specialisation (aided by the university's strong overall academic reputation), government dental officer roles in Uttar Pradesh and central government health services, private practice, or hospital-affiliated clinical positions. The mandatory 1-year rotating internship is completed within KGMU's dental hospital and, where relevant, its broader hospital network — a Dental Council of India (now National Dental Commission) requirement before BDS graduates can register to practise.
