Admission Process Flow
The admission process for NIT Tiruchirappalli is strictly entrance-based. For B.Tech and B.Arch programs, candidates must qualify for JEE Main and participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) or CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) counseling. Admission to M.Tech and M.Arch is through GATE scores via CCMT counseling. MBA admissions require a valid CAT score followed by personal interviews. MCA candidates are selected through the NIMCET entrance exam. Ph.D. and MS (by Research) admissions involve an institute-level entrance test and interview.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech, candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology. For M.Tech, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) and a valid GATE score is required. MBA applicants need a recognized Bachelor's degree with at least 60% aggregate. MCA eligibility requires a Bachelor's degree with Mathematics as a subject and a valid NIMCET score.
