Admission Process Flow
Admissions at SASTRA are strictly merit-based and conducted online. For B.Tech/Integrated M.Tech programs, seats are filled through two streams: Stream 1 (70% seats) based on a combined score of JEE Main (25% weightage) and Class 12 aggregate marks (75% weightage), and Stream 2 (30% seats) based solely on Class 12 aggregate marks. Law program admissions (B.A. LL.B, B.B.A. LL.B, B.Com LL.B) require valid CLAT scores. MBA admissions are based on CAT, XAT, AIMAT, CMAT, or TANCET scores followed by a personal interview. M.Tech admissions prioritize GATE-qualified candidates, who are also eligible for monthly stipends. The application process typically concludes in mid-August each year.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech programs, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination in a single sitting with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and a minimum aggregate of 60%. The applicant should not have completed 19 years of age as of August 1st of the admission year. For Law programs, a minimum of 50% in Class 12 is required along with a valid CLAT score. PG programs like MBA require a recognized bachelor's degree with valid entrance scores. Ph.D. applicants must hold a Master's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks.
