Admission Process Flow
Admission to undergraduate B.Tech and B.Arch programs is based on the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Counseling is conducted through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). For M.Tech programs, candidates must qualify for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and participate in the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan (CCMT). M.Sc admissions are handled through the Centralized Counselling for M.Sc/M.Sc (Tech) (CCMN) based on IIT JAM scores. Doctoral (Ph.D.) admissions are conducted twice a year through departmental written tests and interviews.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject with at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST). For B.Arch: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is mandatory along with a valid NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 score. For M.Tech: A Bachelor's degree in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks, and a valid GATE score. For Ph.D.: A Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science with a strong academic record and qualification in national level exams like GATE or NET.
