Admission Process Flow
Admissions at IIT Mandi are conducted through national-level entrance examinations. For the flagship B.Tech program, candidates must qualify for JEE Main followed by a high rank in JEE Advanced and subsequent JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling. Admission to M.Tech programs is based on GATE scores and COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) participation, although IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above may be eligible for direct admission in certain categories. MBA admissions require a valid CAT score followed by personal interviews. M.Sc. admissions are processed through IIT JAM. Ph.D. candidates are selected based on GATE/NET/UGC scores followed by a written test and interview.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), securing at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or being in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For M.Tech: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA and a valid GATE score. For MBA: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA (55% or 5.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid CAT score. For M.Sc.: A Bachelor's degree in the relevant science field with a valid IIT JAM score.
