National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur

Established on August 15, 1960, NIT Jamshedpur is one of the oldest and most prestigious NITs in India. It was initially a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. The campus is located in Adityapur, on the outskirts of Jamshedpur, surrounded by a picturesque backdrop of hills and forest. It features 11 departments and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education. The institute is recognized for its excellence in engineering education and has been ranked significantly in the NIRF Engineering category, placing 82nd in 2025. It houses a vibrant student community of over 4,000 students and a dedicated faculty of approximately 200 members.
