National Institute of Technology, Mizoram

Established as part of the 11th Five-Year Plan, NIT Mizoram began its academic operations in 2010. It initially functioned from the campus of VNIT Nagpur before shifting to its current temporary location in Aizawl in 2011. The institute has seen rapid growth in its research output, with over 500 SCI-indexed research papers and multiple patents filed in recent years. It maintains strong academic ties with premier institutions like IIT Madras, where students can undertake their final year of B.Tech or pursue direct Ph.D. programs through specialized MoUs. The institute's mission is to produce competent engineers and scientists who can contribute to the societal and technical needs of the nation and the world.
