Admission Cycle 2024-25

Registration Phase

Admissions to the B.Tech programs at NIT Mizoram are conducted through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) based on the All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE Main examination. For M.Tech programs, admission is centralized through the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan (CCMT) based on valid GATE scores. Admissions to M.Sc. programs are processed via CCMN based on JAM scores. The Ph.D. admission process involves an institute-level written test followed by a personal interview, typically conducted twice a year for the autumn and spring semesters.

Key Deadlines

JoSAA 2025 registration and choice filling is expected to begin in June 2025. Physical verification and reporting for B.Tech 1st-year students is scheduled for August 25-29, 2025. Ph.D. admissions for the even semester (2025-26) typically conclude in December-January.

Eligibility Criteria

For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. They must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For M.Tech: A Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (6.0 CGPA or 55% for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid GATE score. For Ph.D.: A Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Humanities with minimum qualifying marks (typically 6.5 CGPA) or a B.Tech degree from a CFTI with a minimum 8.0 CGPA.
